Winter 2011 Update: Much to be Thankful For

Hanna's Garden ShopThanks to all of our customers who made our Christmas season a great success! Seven Hannah Home residents were blessed with work over the holidays, making baskets and wreaths.

We had several new volunteers helping as well, with two mother-daughter teams: Nona Hurst and her daughters, Courtney and Kitty; and Marsha Baker and her daughter Grace, who brought her friend Abigail. They were an invaluable help to us in meeting our wreath orders. Nona and Marsha are living Titus 2:3-4, teaching what is good and training the younger women.

Rita with residentGod blessed us with several new clients, including Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Red Mountain Garden Club, Hanna’s Garden Shop, Western Supermarket and AllSouth Contractors. Thanks to Rita Wood, our baskets were beautifully designed with delicious foods, carefully selected and arranged. Rita also arranged our annual Christmas Party for our first fruits team, complete with a delicious meal and lovely presents donated by her friends and beautiful models from her charity fashion shows.

We have to give special thanks to Graham and Company, for giving us a wonderful workroom close to Hannah Home Shelby; and to Davis Wholesale, for allowing us use of their workroom and cooler.

We're in the process of sprucing up our new work space! One of our master seamstresses from Hannah Home Shelby, will be working with our sewing instructor, Laverne Reese, to make window treatments, table skirting and assorted items to make the place warm and welcoming for our workers and customers. We're now working on our Valentine's baskets. We're going to the Atlanta Market this week to scout out new and delicious items to put in our baskets. We'll be ready next month with beautiful Valentine's selections for your loved ones.

Blessings to you, Marsha Drennen
